Description
EnviChem 9650 is a wide spectrum bactericide and fungicide used to control the growth of bacteria and fungi found in cane which cause considerable loss of sucrose by inversion into Dextran.
PRINCIPLE USES
EnviChem 9650 provides excellent control of aerobic and anaerobic bacteria and fungi over a broad pH range in the diffusion and washing stage in sugar mills. It is especially designed for sugar beet processing and cane sugar manufacturing.
It prevents the conversion of sucrose and formation of lactic acid with all associated problems in the sugar processing.
EnviChem 9650 can also be used in other industrial cooling water applications where it controls a wide spectrum of microorganisms.
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
EnviChem 9650 is a broad spectrum bactericide and fungicide. Controls the growth of bacteria and fungi in sugar cane that convert to dextran, leading to a reduction in sucrose.
PRODUCT BENEFITS
– Excellent control of both bacteria and fungi in a broad pH range
– Enhanced effect against thermophilic strains of bacteria
– Especially effective on sulfate reducing bacteria
– Improves sucrose yield by reducing losses due to microbiological activity
– Low toxicity and non-foaming
– Is in compliance with:
• European regulations for sugar industry
• FDA regulation 21 CFR 173.320
DOSAGE
The required dosage will depend on the average daily rate of cane ground. 10 ppm of product is the standard dosage. This may be raised up to a maximum of 20 ppm, if necessary. Conditions warranting, some increase would be warranted when grinding cane damaged through freezing, poor weather or delays between cutting and grinding.
Your EnviChem representative will recommend the optimum dosage necessary to ensure maximum program performance according to your specific system parameters.
FEEDING
In cane sugar mills, EnviChem 9650 is a liquid which should be fed directly into the cane juice so that the treated juice circulates to all parts of the mill tandem. The point or points of addition will depend on mill design. Frequently the dosage will be split between the crusher juice and the juice from the last mill. The best addition point is to juice which is circulating back to the precious mill, according with compound maceration. Do not add this product to the maceration water.
MATERIALS: Storage and application equipment (pumps, lines) should be made of stainless steel or plastic material like PE, PP, PVC with ethylene-propylene terpolymer (EPDM) seals. Do not use carbon steel, copper, aluminum, zinc or other divalent metals in contact with the neat product.
HANDLING-STORAGE-SHIPPING
As a standard precaution with all chemicals we recommend the use of personal protective equipments such as goggles and rubber gloves when handling. Consult the Material Safety Data Sheet as the only official source of Environmental and Safety information.
EnviChem 9650 can be stored for at least 24 months from date of shipping if kept in its original, unopened container and under normal warehouse conditions. Protect from freezing and from exposure to high temperature.
EnviChem 9650 is available in non-returnable containers of different sizes.
